CLIENT SERVICES/ Responsible for overall account management across several entertainment and sports events in their portfolio.

***Our headquarters is located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our East Coast office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be overseeing an exciting new hotel client, and their diverse sports and entertainment event portfolio.

The account director will get a broad view of several Octagon offices and specialties while supporting a variety of events. In this unique role, you will be working with a tight-knit, service-oriented team committed to providing top-quality creative, experiential, hospitality, and partnership management support to some great clients. You will support the business lead by managing account finances, project management tools, event budgets, and cross-specialty integration. Our event work currently includes 2 music-focused concert events, the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and the Grammy’s.

The work you’ll do

  • Support all of the client’s global brands on all marketing initiatives, partnerships, and experiential marketing activations
  • Lead ongoing sponsorship and project management for multiple events, including day-to-day client and collaborator communications (including external creative and media agencies), program ideation, planning tracking, and recaps
  • Oversee activation assets, client approvals, and third-party approvals
  • Manage PMO and weekly status calls with all collaborators involved in the project
  • Lead management of all vendors, budgeting, and databasing
  • Provide subject matter expertise as it pertains to current partnerships and future opportunities
  • Evaluate client sponsorship portfolio on an ongoing basis. Consult on property selection, evaluation, and analysis as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

Who we’re looking for

  • 7-10 years of proven experience in related events field; past hospitality experience preferred
  • A passion for sports, travel, entertainment, music, and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture will make you a good Octagon fit
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and outstanding at problem-solving; offering creative solutions (though you will always have help, your mantra is: I will figure it out!)
  • A go-getter who demonstrates initiative and embraces new challenges (there will be plenty of last-minute client requests)
  • A master of the Microsoft Office suite; particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Though not a requirement, a second language is a plus
  • A jetsetter: your bags are packed and you are excited about traveling (approx. 35%). Can work weekends/holidays as needed

The base range for this position is $70,000 – 90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications. Octagon’s comprehensive benefits package includes:
