THE JOB / Senior Account Executive, Payment Services Client, Event Hospitality

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

***Our headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the preferred location for this position is Charlotte, NC. It may be flexible with a preference for working in one of our other office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates***

Octagon is looking to hire a Senior Account Executive to support the Payment Services Client’s “Priceless Experiences” Event Hospitality Team. The primary responsibilities of this position includes coordinating event logistics from inception, execution of event/experiential marketing hospitality programs, and daily client communications/management. While coordinating these programs, the SAE will assist in brainstorming and developing new programs to drive clients’ marketing objectives.

This position is for someone who enjoys the work hard, play hard mentality and requires excellent communication and time management skills, acute attention to detail and organization, willingness to learn, strong interpersonal skills, and flexibility. The right candidate will be able to work independently, as part of a team and will work closely with the internal team, divisions, clients and vendors.

The work you’ll do

  • Be the day-to-day client liaison across multiple programs
  • Provide support and be the lead through all aspects of event programming; from initial brainstorm through execution
  • Manage guest communications and flight bookings while providing white glove hospitality and always-on concierge service through all event stages
  • Facilitate and handle program budgets and be diligent in all accounting and expense procedures
  • Assist and handle numerous projects simultaneously, both large-scale custom experiences and smaller-scale events ensuring timelines and client expectations are met
  • Prepare formal documentation for projects including hotel and transportation manifests, recap summaries, and sell-in presentations
  • Manage hotel room blocks and BEOs for hospitality spaces, group dining experiences, etc
  • Create and foster relationships with internal and external partners as well as outside vendors and properties
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support on-site events
  • Other duties as assigned

Who we’re looking for

  • 2-4 years of meaningful work experience
  • You have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • Has experience in an event management setting and has had direct ownership or lead responsibilities over a project
  • Is an excellent project manager and can prioritize multiple programs simultaneously
  • Have budget management and/or reconciliation experience
  • Have a desire to supervise, manage and mentor more junior employees
  • Superb communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Possesses a can-do attitude and a desire to succeed
  • Flexible and able to travel domestically and internationally and work weekends or holidays as needed
  • Valid passport
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Strong ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate initiative and solve problems independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” positive attitude
  • Team mentality and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of people and cultures
