THE JOB / Temporary Account Executive

Octagon is looking for a Temporary Account Executive to support the day-to-day series management of a nationwide grassroots event program running from August – December 2022.The tour will consist of a team of marketers who facilitate employee recognition and community partner events that provide a unique experience for attendees while recognizing their efforts to drive substantial action toward climate change!

The program team will be comprised of two (2) “travel” teams that will each travel to various locations across the country staging the events, and one “home” team which leads long term planning and communication for the event series. This role will support the overall program and travel teams, while working closely with program partners across the agency.

The Temporary AE will become knowledgeable in a new electronic vehicle product and its adoption across partner businesses and communities!

You will work as part of a cohesive team and collaborate with various internal divisions, client partners/vendors, and community and government stakeholders. Strong team dynamics skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required for this position.

 

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Ensure effective communication of pre- and post-event details and coordinate logistics with key partners.
  • Support Account Director and client across event specifics, including scheduling, budget, and series updates as needed
  • Assist with management of event budget and accounts payable, with regular reporting to client
  • Partner with travel teams for inventory management, vendor selection, and set up across food & beverage, audio/visual, and other event needs
  • Become an expert in a specific line of electric vehicles with the ability to speak to community partners and implement Ride and Drive programs at select events
  • Drive efficiencies and continuously improve the events as the series is completed

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • Interest in sustainability & electronic vehicles is a strong plus
  • 1-3+ years of work experience in events, branded experiences, or a customer-service oriented role
  • Must be at least 21+ years of age with a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Capacity to become knowledgeable on our client’s industry, brand, and product offerings
  • Ability to connect with key program partners from various backgrounds and industries
  • Willingness to travel approx. 20% of the time (including weekends or holidays)
  • Strong ability to work within a team dynamic, demonstrate initiative and solve problems effectively and independently
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint with attentiveness to detail
