THE JOB / Account Manager, Home Improvement – Pro BSB Events

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing

The Account Manager will lead the Account Team in the planning and execution of Pro B2B/B2C experiential marketing events on behalf of a Home Improvement client. This position will lead and implement B2B events to engage their top tier Pro customers, where the Pro customers interact with Pro vendors and engage in activities centered around sports, hospitality and promoting the client’s brand! This individual will be responsible for the internal Octagon team for the day-to-day management of the events, as well as handling external vendors and stakeholders.

The Account Manager will be responsible for:

  • Lead the internal account team to develop and implement the golf and other hospitality B2B/B2C events!
  • Lead team in planning events and onsite execution, from set up and tear down
  • Lead ongoing communication with the client around program status, updates and future program planning
  • Lead ongoing communication with the client’s vendors to coordinate show/event details and calendar
  • Lead program budget planning, expenses, and reconciliation

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Planning and execution of various on-site activities and operations (i.e. catering, golf and other activities, staffing, etc.)
  • Writing program planning documents, activation plans, recaps and other event related documents
  • Identify and handle outside vendors associated with carrying out the overall projects/events
  • Run and lead all aspects of account and event staffing (i.e. onsite staff including AE and Trainees, as well as client staff when applicable)
  • Liaison with internal Octagon teams and key client departments and client’s agency partners for related event needs
  • Work on additional Octagon accounts and/or projects as needed

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • Expert knowledge of events and hospitality, golf knowledge a plus
  • Experience with event planning and execution, ideally with hospitality events, tradeshows and/or other experiential events
  • 5+ years related work experience in the marketing or advertising industries
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, to work effectively with clients and lead internal teams, and vendor partners
  • Strong ability to work as a part of a team, demonstrate initiative and solve problems effectively and independently
  • Ability and comfort level to connect with business executives in an event setting
  • A sense of business process and how marketing, communications, and events are used to impact the bottom line and drive brand objectives
  • Ability to manage relationships with key vendors and partners (e.g. venues, properties, suppliers, etc.)
  • Capacity to become knowledgeable on our client’s industry, brand, product offerings, and business objectives
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively (up to 50% at times) and work weekend/holidays as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
