Requisition ID: 6991

THE JOB / Junior Art Director

CREATIVE / Responsible for generating bold, innovative ideas (LIKE THESE) and producing design, technology and content for our clients’ marketing programs.

** Our headquarters is located in Stamford, CT but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Los Angeles, CA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates.**

A great idea and the best headline in the world don’t mean a thing if there isn’t a good visual or design to bring it to life. There’s nothing wrong with sound strategy or great copy but to truly express ideas, it takes strong art direction and visual polish to make them sing.

And that’s what we’re looking for. Budding art director kings and queens who are all about their craft. Writers who want to work at the forefront of Sports and Entertainment marketing where ideas and crisp copy are held at a premium.

Specifically, you’ll team up with our media and technology teams to create exceptional content and experiences for our clients and, more importantly, the diverse and ever-changing audiences they’re trying to reach.

You’ll have to be versatile, resourceful, and confident enough to handle the different kinds of writing required. Everything from researching and crafting big conceptual press-worthy ideas and headlines, to coming up with site/mobile/app/whatever copy that helps an intuitive interface be that much more intuitive.

Last but not least, this is a pretty cool place to work -- and that’s coming from the people writing this job posting, not the HR department.

Everyone on the team works hard, but it’s not working hard just to prove who can work longest. We work hard because the creative opportunities are great, and we actually like working with each other to do interesting work while keeping clients happy. We also know that all work and no play make for terrible ideas.

The bigger team you’ll join

Where others see complexity, we see possibility.

Octagon is the global sports, entertainment, and experiential marketing arm of the Interpublic Group. But if that classification doesn’t do it for you, and it shouldn’t, let’s take it a step further.

We are what we believe. And we believe that while the world of sports and entertainment is full of opportunities and possibilities, sometimes the amount of choice can seem a little overwhelming. Even daunting.

That’s where we come into play!

At Octagon, we inspire brands, talent, and our people to see the world for all its potential. We then help break down the complexity and push forward so you can make your next right move.

Who we're looking for

  • At least 0-2 years of agency experience preferred
  • Current and review-ready portfolio. Even better if it’s from a portfolio school.
  • Strong Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator skills.
  • Ability to take an active part in a collaborative environment and work as part of a team
  • Experience in team-based concept development, including ongoing delivery of fresh ideas
  • The confidence and maturity to know that great ideas can come from anyone, anywhere
